Carly Garrison
Originally from the Hudson Valley, she received her first certification for Fashion & Interior Design from Orange-Ulster BOCES in Goshen, NY in 2008 while in high school. This is where she learned to sew, color theory, and how to write a resume.
Upon graduation, she moved into the luxury retail sector in sales and quickly was promoted into a Visual Merchandising Management role with DIESEL, a luxury denim + lifestyle brand. Between 2009 and 2014, she would continue Visual Merchandising + Sales for other brands: Elie Tahari, 7 for All Mankind and Forever 21 where she gained experience & exposure to different tiers of customer service, garment quality, and store-concepts.
In 2012, she enrolled in her local community college, SUNY Orange, where she pursued an Associate's degree in Humanties with a concentration in Business with the long-term goal of transferring to SUNY Buffalo State for their Fashion & Textile Technology program. During her time at Buffalo State, she learned how to draft patterns, heirloom sewing techniques, computer-aided-design, but also the ills of the Fashion Industry. Because of this, her ideas for her future business shifted: she didn't want to mass produce low-quality garments that followed trends, but rather wanted to aid in the longevity of the clothing lifecycle. Upon graduation from Buffalo State, she was recruited to Oxford Pennant where she aided in the development of their sewing & manufacturing department from 2019-2022. During this time she was able to see first-hand how a small business operates and how it can evolve.
Now having 17 years of sewing and retail experience, she brings a dedication to serving her local community by offering individualized sewing services from a simple pants hem to total reconstructions while maintaining the integrity of the original garment.
